We’re on the search for the best businesses in South Canterbury, so nominate an outstanding local business and we will make contact with your recommendation, congratulating them on the endorsement by you, and encouraging them to enter the 2012 South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards.

Entry Tips - Read this entry pack thoroughly. Each section must be completed within the specified word limit, so plan your entry to gain maximum mileage out of the limited word count.
- Please type your answers.
- Answer all questions clearly and concisely and avoid narrative as a substitute for hard facts. Feel free to use bullet points.
- Entering can be a real team effort so consider brainstorming the questions with your staff, business partners, advisors etc. You might be surprised at the level of involvement and interest shown.
- Appendices are not allowed.
- Convey your passion for your business through your entry.

| | Emerging Business Award Open to businesses that have been trading less than 3 years across all categories |  | Hospitality & Tourism Award Open to businesses whose principal business activities provide a tourism activity, food or accommodation service in the region e.g. restaurants, cafes, wineries, accommodation, motels, hotels, retirement villages, bed & breakfast, tourist attraction, adventure tourism, family entertainment or visitor related services. The Category will have two awards Small Enterprise Hospitality & Tourism Award - Open to businesses with 5 or fewer full-time equivalent employees Large Enterprise Hospitality & Tourism Award - Open to businesses with 6 or more full-time equivalent employees | | Manufacturing & Primary Produce Award Open to businesses whose principal activity is involved in or related to primary produce sector and/or manufacturing for distribution either locally, nationally or internationally, e.g. manufacturer, viticulture, agriculture, farming, wholesaler, distributor. |  | Retail Award Open to businesses whose principal activity is the sale of goods to the consumer or visitor. Reliability, value and outstanding customer service are all essential to the overall retail experience. The Category will have two awards Small Enterprise Retail Award - Open to businesses with 5 or fewer full-time equivalent employees Large Enterprise Retail Award - Open to businesses with 6 or more full-time equivalent employees | | Technology & Innovation Award Open to businesses that are creatively using technology to their advantage in achieving success or have adopted new innovative methods or systems in their company. The technology (or technologies) not limited to IT, will provide a competitive advantage through its application and leverage. | | Service & Community Organisation Award Open to business whose principal activity is to provide assistance/support or advice to other businesses or the consumer. As well as service businesses, this category is open to not for profit organisations, educational institutions, health service providers, local government organisations, community trusts etc, that demonstrate excellence and make a significant impact in their field. |
