Business Excellence Awards


The 2013 South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards recognise and celebrate business excellence, playing an important role in promoting and strengthening economic development in the region. Entrants benefit from significant local media coverage, with category and supreme winners able to leverage their success in on-going advertising and communications activity well past the immediate event period.

   Emerging Business Award

Open to businesses that have been trading less than 3 years across all categories.

Hospitality Industry Award

Open to businesses whose principle business activities provide a tourism activity, food or accommodation service in the region. e.g. restaurants, cafes, wineries, accommodation, motels, hotels, retirement villages, bed & breakfast.


Tourism Industry Award

Open to businesses whose principle business activities provide a tourism activity in the region e.g. tourist attraction, adventure tourism, family entertainment or visitor related services.

  
Manufacturing & Primary Produce Award

Open to businesses whose principle activity is involved in or related to primary produce sector and/or manufacturing for distribution either locally, nationally or internationally, e.g. manufacturer, horticulture, agriculture, farming, wholesaler, distributor.

    
Retail Award

Open to businesses whose principle activity is the sale of goods to the consumer. Reliability, value and outstanding customer service are all essential to the overall retail experience.

           
Construction Industry Award

Open to businesses whose principle activity is involved in building or construction. This could be a single activity through to large scale construction.
e.g. plumbing, building, plastering


Service Industry Award

Open to business whose principle activity is to provide a service or support to other businesses or the consumer.
e.g. hairdressing, lawyer, photographer
