The South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce offers straight forward, affordable business support and advice to help South Canterbury thrive.
The South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce is a non-political, non-profit organisation, representing the full spectrum of business interests, both small and large, in South Canterbury New Zealand. Part of a New Zealand-wide organisation, the South Canterbury branch boasts a membership of over 450, many of which are small businesses around South Canterbury, employing less than 15 staff.
South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce members range from manufacturers, trades people, professionals, international traders, retailers, service businesses, not-for-profit organisations, owner operators and more. The Chamber plays a strong role in the Central South Island business community on a wide range of issues - working together in the interests of the community to make the South Canterbury region a better place to develop and promote your business!
Chamber Services
As a first point of contact for business people interested in setting up and developing business in South Canterbury, we offer a range of resources, local contacts and business consultancy services for new and existing businesses:
- Networking events and promotional opportunities
Our network of more than 430 South Canterbury business members provides you with a unique opportunity to promote your products and services to a group of motivated business people.
- BA5s (Business After Fives)
One of the most popular networking events run by the Chamber, Business After 5 get-togethers often enjoy attendance of up to 140 members. Central South Island Businesses are encouraged to bring people from within their organisation to use the chance to network.
- Cluster Groups
The South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce runs a number of special interest discussion groups, which aim to bring together industry sectors and businesses from different parts of South Canterbury.
- Advisory Services
The Chamber can help with advice and guidance on issues ranging from recruitment, terms of employment, terminating employment, Kiwisaver, remuneration and flexible working legislation. Advice on setting up a new business or developing and expanding an existing operation is also available, as are business guides, sample documents and templates.

Regular bulletins keep you updated with legislative changes and upcoming events.
