This summer the Carnival is expected to be as big as other years with the variety of activities and entertainment including the amazing midnight New Years Eve fireworks display is a must to see and a excellent night of family entertainment.
The holidaymakers are treated to fairground style rides, free daily concerts, along with a variety of activities such as Inflatables, Mini Golf, Truck & Trailer Rig, Amac Bungy Trampoline, Train Rides and events and competitions along with entertainment by popular New Zealand artists.

My Sport Triathlon Series - Timaru Sunday, 27 January 2008  [ 8:00am - 2:00pm ]
From nervous novices to experienced elites, Triathlon New Zealand invites participants of all ages and abilities to once again enter the Contact Energy ‘My Sport’ Series for 2007/08.

For the novice or first time contestants there is the popular ‘Tri My Sport’ race and the opportunity to be part of a team event. Then for the more serious minded and elite, prize money and overall honours is on offer in the Contact Energy Cup races, over a variety of distances.

Triathlon New Zealand has spent the last five months bringing together some of NZ’s most iconic locations and venues into the 2007/08 My Sport series. For example there is a new innovative city centre race in Takapuna high street and a new event in Timaru plus a whole host of other additions, ideas and timings to suit you - the participant.

Amongst the many prizes - Asics Shoes, Polar Heart monitors, BBQ’s, Balance Product, Orca wetsuits, and cash prizes are on offer, but even better one lucky participant will win a Free Suzuki Swift!

Made by Timaru Potteries - An exhibition of local mid 20th
century commercial, industrial and
domestic pottery. Timaru Potteries made distinctive stoneware ceramics from 1936 to 1959. While Timaru Potteries was known for producing high quality utilitarian products, they had a dedicated and talented staff who also produced items of beauty. The exhibition features a large number of pieces along with images and information about the firm’s history.
