Southern Rider Escapade 2010 Friday, 1 October 2010  [ All Day ]
The Escapade is a bike road rally with a slight difference. You are given a a route to take, and a long this route you must answer questions that given on a question sheet. You then return the question sheet with your answers. Then your badge is sent out to you after the close off date for completing the Escapade.

The dates are not set in stone for a weekend that you do it on. You have from 1 September 2010 till 30th November 2010, a period of 3 months to complete. You can do it in your own time, by yourself or with a group. You can do it in one go or a couple of days and make it a holiday away. You can do it in any order you like as long as you get all the questions.

This exhibition of paintings by Wellington artist Bob Kerr contrasts the First World War experiences of Archibald Baxter and Alfred Cameron. Alfred could not wait to enlist and was sent to Gallipoli. Archibald was a Pacifist and was forcibly sent to France. Both men survived the war and Alfred settled on a farm at Cricklewood near Albury in South Canterbury.

Collier Trophy Tournament  Sunday, 3 October 2010  [ various ]
Timaru has been confirmed as the venue for the Collier Trophy Tournament which is the premier national tournament for Year 7 & 8 year old girls (U13). This tournament will take place from 3rd-9th October 2010. Twenty-four teams will be involved from Hockey Associations around NZ. This will bring around 500-600 people to the region.

This exhibition of paintings by Wellington artist Bob Kerr contrasts the First World War experiences of Archibald Baxter and Alfred Cameron. Alfred could not wait to enlist and was sent to Gallipoli. Archibald was a Pacifist and was forcibly sent to France. Both men survived the war and Alfred settled on a farm at Cricklewood near Albury in South Canterbury.

The Escapade is a bike road rally with a slight difference. You are given a a route to take, and a long this route you must answer questions that given on a question sheet. You then return the question sheet with your answers. Then your badge is sent out to you after the close off date for completing the Escapade.

The dates are not set in stone for a weekend that you do it on. You have from 1 September 2010 till 30th November 2010, a period of 3 months to complete. You can do it in your own time, by yourself or with a group. You can do it in one go or a couple of days and make it a holiday away. You can do it in any order you like as long as you get all the questions.

Timaru has been confirmed as the venue for the Collier Trophy Tournament which is the premier national tournament for Year 7 & 8 year old girls (U13). This tournament will take place from 3rd-9th October 2010. Twenty-four teams will be involved from Hockey Associations around NZ. This will bring around 500-600 people to the region.

Recently written works from NZ and USA provide mesmerizing and intriguing contrast - Rachel Clementīs Shifting States evokes the delicate processes of glass making, and Jennifer Higdonīs Trio portrays the colours of Pale Yellow and Fiery Red.
