Andrew Craig has a BA in Art History from the University of Canterbury and a Post graduate Diploma in Landscape Architecture from Lincoln University. His studio is in Christchurch and he was recently commissioned by DOC to create the interpretive background images for the Aoraki/Mt Cook visitor centre. His paintings are lush meditations on the harsh beauty of New Zealand’s geology.

Shakespeare on the Bay Saturday, 6 February 2010  [ 12noon & 6pm ]
The Whirligig Theatre Group, sponsored by the Timaru Arts Council, present "The Taming of the Shrew" directed by Elizabeth Grubb. The cast include professional actors Charles Grubb, a well known actor based in Christchurch, plays Petruchio; Becs Curtis who trained at Unitec in Auckland, plays Katherina; and Zac Parore who trained at Nasda in Christchurch plays the part of Lucentio. The rest of the cast is made up of well known Timaru thespians. Take your own picnic.
Entry is free. Donations towards future productions would be appreciated.

Andrew Craig has a BA in Art History from the University of Canterbury and a Post graduate Diploma in Landscape Architecture from Lincoln University. His studio is in Christchurch and he was recently commissioned by DOC to create the interpretive background images for the Aoraki/Mt Cook visitor centre. His paintings are lush meditations on the harsh beauty of New Zealand’s geology.

Kids Can Do It Tryathlon Sunday, 28 February 2010  [ 12noon registration, 1.00pm start ]
This is a popular ´Have a Go´ event for children aged 7-14 years. The event starts from Maori Park pool and finishes on Caroline Bay. The children swim, run and bike.
Stage One - Swim: 3 widths (approx 50m) for 7-9yr olds; 2 lengths (100m) for 10-14yr olds.
Stage Two - Run: Approx 1.5km around Benvenue and across the board walk on Caroline Bay.
Stage Three - Lap circuit on the bike around Caroline Bay area. Approx 3km for 7-9yr olds and 4.5km for 10-14yr olds.
Open to individuals and teams. All participants eligible for spot prizes and receive a certificate of achievement.
