2008 Parker ENZED Jetsprint Championships - Timaru Sunday, 16 March 2008  [ 11am to 4pm ]
Round five of the New Zealand Jetsprint championships at the Brassels Bridge Raceway in Timaru.

The Jetsprint championship events use an elimination format which has proven to provide tense and exciting competition. Competitors each have 3-4 high speed runs at the course, those competitors with the fastest 16 times begin the Top 16 elimination run. From there the top 8 are found, then top 4, then top 2. The elimination format means that every run counts, the drivers must give it there all in every run.

Jetsprint racing is an exciting spectator sport. The boats feature large V8 engines with lots of horsepower. The boats race over a course that consists of a series of channels, 3 to 5 metres wide and often have 25 to 30 directional changes in a run that only takes 45 to 65 seconds to complete.
