| 2008 Parker ENZED Jetsprint Championships - Timaru Sunday, 16 March 2008 [ 11am to 4pm ] |
Round five of the New Zealand Jetsprint championships at the Brassels Bridge Raceway in Timaru.
The Jetsprint championship events use an elimination format which has proven to provide tense and exciting competition. Competitors each have 3-4 high speed runs at the course, those competitors with the fastest 16 times begin the Top 16 elimination run. From there the top 8 are found, then top 4, then top 2. The elimination format means that every run counts, the drivers must give it there all in every run.
Jetsprint racing is an exciting spectator sport. The boats feature large V8 engines with lots of horsepower. The boats race over a course that consists of a series of channels, 3 to 5 metres wide and often have 25 to 30 directional changes in a run that only takes 45 to 65 seconds to complete. Gate sales$15.00 for Adults $5.00 For Children 5-13 years

| Timaru Herald Home Lifestyle Tourism & Car Show Thursday, 20 March 2008 [ 10am to 7pm ] |
The Timaru Herald Home and Lifestyle Show has been part of the events calendar in the Central South Island for 29 years. This biennial event has attracted thousands of people from around the region and as far away as Christchurch and Dunedin.
This year the show will again include a tourism expo and a new car expo to attract maximum people to the event. The space available at the SBS Events centre is smaller than the PrimePort Timaru dry store site where the 2006 show was held. Sites will be limited. The Home, Lifestyle, Tourism and Car Show is the premier event for the regions, manufacturers, retailers, tourist operators and new car franchise dealers to promote their products and services.
If it is to do with lifestyle and living then this is the event for you.
This show has attracted consistently up to 20,000 people each time it has been held over the past 29 years. So join The Timaru Herald, at the Home, Lifestyle, Tourism and Car Show 2009. |

| Timaru Herald Home Lifestyle Tourism & Car Show Saturday, 22 March 2008 [ 10am to 7pm ] |
