The Mt Dobson, Round Hill and Mt Hutt ski fields are all within easy driving distances. There are some very fine examples of pre-European Maori rock art in the area, bush walks and historic sites. Pleasant Point has an excellent 18 hole golf course, swimming pool, tennis courts and a choice of cafes and restaurants. There is a railway museum with fully restored locomotives that operate at scheduled times over the summer months. Visit the local Opihi winery and taste some of their award winning wines.
